Privacy policy
Short version: Fartabulous works without an account, without your name and without your e-mail. We keep the minimum needed to save your progress and run the game. No advertising, no tracking across sites, no selling of data. Ever.
Who we are
Fartabulous is published by Thiollywood (France), the data controller. Contact: support@fartabulous.com.
What we collect and why
- Your game profile (a random player id, a hippo name picked from our list, your looks, coins, beans, items, crews and level results): to save your progress and let you play with your crew. Legal basis: performance of the service you asked for.
- A session cookie (“fb_s”, strictly necessary, HttpOnly, only sent to fartabulous.com): it keeps you signed in to your guest profile. No consent needed for this cookie; there are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- Sign-in (optional): if you link Google, Apple or Facebook, we store only the account identifier those services give us (no e-mail, no name, no friend list), so you can find your progress on another device.
- Purchases (optional): payments are handled by Stripe. We receive the product, amount, currency and a payment reference, never your card details. Legal basis: contract; we keep invoices as required by accounting law.
- Notifications (optional): if you turn them on, your browser gives us a push address; we use it only for game notifications (your crew is waiting, at most a few reminders a week). You can turn them off anytime in Settings.
- Anonymous statistics: the game sends anonymous events (levels started and finished, screens, errors) linked to a random id, to make levels fairer and fix bugs. No name, no e-mail, no IP address, no advertising id. You can switch it off in Settings → Privacy. They are processed by our own tool, Thiollywood Analytics, hosted on Google Cloud in the European Union.
- Security: technical logs and an anti-bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) protect the service from abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Where it is stored
The game is served by Cloudflare (worldwide network) and the database is hosted by Neon in the United States. Transfers outside the EU rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable. Processors: Cloudflare (hosting, security, e-mail forwarding), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), Google Cloud (anonymous statistics), and Google, Apple, Facebook only if you choose to sign in with them.
How long
Your profile is kept while you play and deleted after 3 years without any visit. Anonymous statistics are kept at most 13 months. Payment records are kept as long as accounting law requires (10 years in France).
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent at any time: delete your account here or write to privacy@fartabulous.com with your player id (Settings → Privacy). You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL). California residents: we do not sell or share personal information.
Children
Fartabulous has no chat and no free text: strangers can't contact anyone. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (16 in some EU countries): guest play needs none. Signing in and purchases are for players old enough under their local law, or with a parent's permission.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll say so in the game.
